Role Description

Do you want to help develop new therapies and have great colleagues?

If you are looking for an opportunity to unfold and expand your skills within clinical drug development, you will not find better opportunities than in this dedicated clinical development position. You will join a global company that has set the very ambitious goal to become the world's preferred medical dermatology partner.

To succeed, we have made historical investments within R&D and in the last years developed new systemic and innovative medicines for patients with unmet medical needs. We have a solid pipeline and a lot of interesting projects in various stages of development. But we are far from done. As our new colleague, you can look forward to highly interesting challenges in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, characterized by trust, teamwork and a strong focus on your well-being and personal development.

Your role
As a Medical Expert working on a development project within dermatology, you will join an ambitious, fun-loving, and closely collaborating team of Medical Expert colleagues, striving to bring innovative treatments to patients with dermatological conditions. You will also work in cross-functional teams together with colleagues from other skill areas. Your primary tasks will, depending on your level of experience, be to:

  • Advance our drug development projects together with your team and identify solutions to the various challenges that arise along the way
  • Shape the strategic development of our drug development projects by driving the medical and scientific content of the Clinical Development Plan
  • Help deliver on the Clinical Development Plan by being responsible for the medical input to clinical trials from the very beginning, through the design, conduct and reporting of the trials. This involves working on trial protocols, trial reports, regulatory documents, investigator's brochures and publications
  • Represent LEO Pharma in interactions with external stakeholders, including investigators, therapeutic experts, and regulatory authorities
  • Help our area develop further by updating our processes and ways of working.

You will be based at the LEO Pharma HQ in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen. Travel-wise, you can look forward to approximately 10 days of travel per year, to meet partners and colleagues, primarily in Europe and the US.

Your qualifications
We are looking for a person with a strong sense of logic, the capacity to identify the key issues in complex problems, the ability to work together with their team, and to identify a path forward. This calls for your open-minded approach and understanding of - and respect for - cultural and professional differences. You should also be skilled at presenting your results and recommendations (written and spoken).

For this position you should have an education as Medical Doctor. Additionally, one or more of the below experiences are considered of value:

  • Clinical research experience, for example from a PhD
  • Experience within clinical drug development (either from sponsor or as an investigator)
  • Previous work in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience and/or a professional interest within the field of dermatology or within the anti-inflammatory space

Your new team
You will join one of our two medical sections, that combined have around 20 Medical Doctors employed. We are part of the Global Clinical Development area, which has around 90 scientists all providing medical/scientific input to help advance our drug development projects. We are located at the LEO Pharma headquarters in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen. Our environment is founded on trust and respect, and we believe that people who thrive achieve the greatest results. A good work-life balance and focus on development opportunities are important components to this. We know that we can only succeed as a team and for the same reason we have an on-going focus on teamwork and collaboration.

Contact and application
We look forward to receiving your application. The deadline is March 20th 2023, but applications will also be reviewed on an ongoing basis. If you have questions or want to hear more, please feel free to contact Nathan Lassota: +45 31750921.
